Object Description

This exceptionally rare and unusual Georgian silver twisted wire work spice cruet was made in London in 1767 by Thomas Carter and measures 7 inches tall by 5 1/8 inches in dia, it has 6 bottle rings holding it’s original bottles which are acid engraved and decorated with garlands and bear the names ELDER, SOY, KYAN, LEMON, GARLIC and TARRAGON, they each have a facet cut stopper and the kyan one has a silver spoon attached to the stopper. It is fully and clearly hallmarked to the base rim and is in excellent condition with only one of the bottles having a couple of flea bites to the base rim – mentioned for accuracy because very difficult to see when in situ, a rare and very useable item for your dining table.
