Object Description
This fantastic pair of large cast Victorian silver sugar scissors were made in London in 1839 by William Theobalds and Robert Atkinson and measure 6 1/8 inches in length and are cast throughout, they are decorated with acanthus leaves, graduated shells for the bowls and scrolled acanthus leaves for the finger rings, the central spigot is fashioned as a poppy and they are fully and clearly hallmarked to the inside of each arm, an amazing and very rare pair of sugar scissors or nips in excellent condition weighing 3.2 ounces or 98 grams.
