Object Description

This rare and fine Queen Anne Britannia silver pear shaped tea pot was made in London in 1709 by William Fawdrey and measures 8 inches handle to spout by approx 4.5 inches at it’s widest and is approx 6 inches tall. It has a scrolled wooden handle and a round wooden finial with the body and lid being totally plain, the cast swan neck spout being faceted with a hinged cover to the end of the spout. It is fully and clearly hallmarked to the side and to the domed lid rim with the lions head erased. It has pin prick initials under the base of H over FM and the weight 14.0, a nice rare pot in excellent condition weighing 14.4 ounces or 447 grams.
