Object Description

This fine bright cut George III silver coffee pot was made in London in 1785 by John Denzilow and measures 12.75 inches tall by 8.75 inches handle to spout and is 4 inches in dia across the base. It has crisp bright cut engraving with swags and garland of flowers and foliage with a ribbon and bow holding an oval cartouche that is vacant on both sides and also there is engraving around the bottom half of the spout and around the lid edge and below the finial as well as the foot rim, the finial is urn shaped, the castings holding the handle are a shell to the top and an unusual rat tail to the bottom, it is fully and clearly hallmarked under the base and has the incuse monarchs head and also on the lid rim with the makers mark and lion passant. The condition is excellent and it weighs ounces or grams.
