Object Description
This fine crested square George I silver salver was made in London in 1726 (no makers mark – could have been one of a pair) and measures 6 3/16 inches in dia, it stands on 4 cast raised pad feet and has a plain border and bears a lovely crest to the centre of the face of a castle with a griffins head above. It is a superb quality salver weighing 8.85 ounces or 276 grams and is in very good condition with a lovely colour.
