Object Description

This good quality, crested George II silver Hanoverian rat tail basting spoon was made in London in 1728 by Jeremiah King and measures 13.5 inches in length, it is crested to the back of the stem with a shell where it is fully and clearly hallmarked, it has a long and well defined rat tail to the back of the bowl and the bowl is well formed and of good gauge and weighs 5.40 ounces or 168 grams.
