Object Description
This fine engraved Charles II silver tobacco box was made C1680 by SB and measures 4.5 inches long by 3.5 inches wide and is almost 1 inch deep, it is beautifully engraved to the pull off lid with a heron folding a small fish and a hoho bird sitting in prunus, a palm tree and some rocks, it has a reeded border to the pull off lid and has the initials E*H engraved to the underside. It is marked with the makers mark only in the base and inside the lid and is in excellent condition weighing ounces or grams.
