Object Description

This fine and large armorial William IV silver coffee pot was made in London in 1836 by Burrows and Pierce and measures 10.75 inches handle to spout by 9.75 inches to the top of the handle and is approx 6.5 inches at its widest. It is beautifully decorated with acanthus leaf embossing, matte engraving to the background and acanthus leaf detailing around the petal shaped base and top border and has a lovely scrolled handle with matte and leaf detailing. It has a cartouche to one side bearing a coat of arms with a crest above and has a bird and leaf finial to the hinged lid. It is fully and clearly hallmarked under the base and also to the finial, the condition is excellent and it weighs 33.3 ounces or 1036 grams.
