This fine pair of early George III silver alms dishes were made in London in 1760 by Shaw and Priest and measure 11.5 inches in dia and stand just over 1.5 inches tall, they are plain in design with only an engraved line around the border and a raised centre to each, to the underside in the centre each bears the inscription ST BENEDICT FINK LONDON THE GIFT OF DR WATERLAND MINISTER OF THE SAID PARISH 1760, they are fully and well hallmarked to the backs and are in excellent condition weighing a hefty 54 ounces or 1680 grams, a superb quality pair of dishes.
