(This pair of shelves are exceptional quality and a rarely
found design – It is also relatively rare for the intricate pierced
decoration to have stood the test of time so well with very little
damage or restoration of any kind to speak of. There is a slight
variation in the width of these with one set being 1 inch wider than
the other set, which was clearly done on purpose during
construction, maybe at the specific request of the purchaser. The
shelves come supplied with an original invoice showing they were
purchased from one of the top London dealers of the 1970’s, for
£800 in 1978. They are certainly ready to add a touch of elegance,
sophistication and function to just about any room in the home or office.)
