Object Description
This fine quality engraved Victorian silver table snuff box was made in Birmingham in 1863 by Edward Smith and measures 3 3/8 inches long by 2.25 inches wide and is almost 1.5 inches deep, it has a vacant cartouche to the hinged lid with scrolling acanthus leaves surrounding, the sides are similarly engraved but with a panel of flowers below the thumb piece and to the back side with the base repeating the scrolled acanthus theme, it has rounded edges and it gilded to the interior and is fully and clearly hallmarked and is in excellent condition weighing 6.55 ounces or 203 grams.
