Object Description
An ash and bamboo Walking Stick that converts to a stool.
The stick’s carrying handles are made of bamboo with the stool frame ash and the seat canvas. The Walking Stick doubles in use as a portable stool with a folding stretcher that neatly locks it into position.
To convert the stick to a stool, the shaft is released from the folded X frame by a sprung hook. The stool then opens and the shaft flips over with its lined hole to the end locking in place on a pin to form a stretcher.
A simple but clever design. Circa 1900.
Size as a stool is given. The full length as a Walking or Shooting Stick is 34 inches ( 86.5 cm)
