Object Description
An excellent Louis XVI period demilune fold-over card or game table with elaborate love-symbol and floral marquetry: standing on four square tapering legs with bronze wheels, the hinged top centered by a marquetry of ribbon tied musical instruments, musical notes and attributes of love such as quiver and lovebirds within a frame of marquetry “à la Reine”, the corners being inlaid with floral marquetry. The frieze inlaid with marquetry “à la Reine”. One of the legs at the back of the table is adjusted to a small drawer which needs to be pulled out as a support for the hinged top when opened to reveal the actual game table. The opened top with Greek-key framed green felt lining.
