This Empire style chandelier is formed from gilt bronze and metal. The chandelier is constructed of pierced bowl wrought with foliate motifs. The central band of the chandelier, which is crafted from metal, supports the springing of eight scrolling gilt bronze branches. Most strikingly, exemplifying the grand flourishes typical of the Empire style, the top of the chandelier bowl bolsters a large gilt bronze flame-form finial, providing a faux ninth light branch. The top of the chandelier is defined by a corona of flaring gilt bronze acanthus leaves.
