French gilt bronze and enamel mounted onyx standing clock

This beautiful pedestal clock is crafted in a wonderful Renaissance inspired style from red onyx. The pedestal of the clock features a slender shaft and a tiered base, both of red onyx mounted with gilt bronze. The clock case is inset to the front with a circular enamel dial, the centre of which features champleve enamel arabesque decoration, while the sides of the case feature circular panels adorned with further champleve enamel designs. The pedestal clock is surmounted by a flared entablature topped with a red marble plateau.
