This antique porcelain clock set has been decorated in the style of the Sèvres manufacturers in France, with ornate gilt bronze mounted embellishments. The set consists of three pieces: a central clock and a pair of flanking vases. The clock is set on an oval shaped plinth which supports a porcelain vase and two large mounted gilt bronze putti with wings on either side, joined by gilt bronze flames and floral wreaths. The vase features painted depictions of putti flying on white parcel gilt ground, and to the centre of the body is mounted the circular clock dial. The vase is lidded, and the lid is surmounted by a gilt bronze putto. It bears a signature reading ‘E. PERNODET’.
The flanking vases are similar in decoration: like the central clock, they feature painted decorations on white parcel gilt ground on their bodies, and are mounted at either side with twin handles in the form of satyr busts. They are also lidded, and the lid is surmounted by a small putto shown playing the lyre. All three pieces are set on gilt bronze bases with relief panels running along the bottom.
