Circa 1880, unusual French serpentine fronted, marble top rosewood cabinet. The russet coloured, variegated marble top has a moulded edge and is over a full-length frieze drawer stamped ‘Edward and Roberts’ (the retailers). It has an elaborate cut brass foliate inlay and unusual polished drawer liner above twin doors. These have further foliate and C scroll inlay, opening to a shelved interior. The corners have extensive bronze mounts and are on cabriole supports with bronze sabots.
