Object Description
A stunning and large early Art Deco Hancock & Sons Morrisware hand painted art pottery vase with flowering harebells by George Cartlidge dating circa 1918. This tall and striking vase stands on a narrow rounded foot with a wide rounded ball shaped base and with a tall funnel shaped neck with a trumpet shaped top. The vase is hand painted with flowering harebells applied in a raised slip and colored in naturalistic glazes on a rich mottled blue ground. The vase has printed makers marks to the base along with a George Cartlidge facsimile signature.
