Object Description

A handsome pair of antique sterling silver sauceboats with typical classic shape and plain styling of the period. Each with a hand engraved crest to one side. Good colour. Each contains 450 ml. Weight of pair 643 grams, 20.6 troy ounces. Spread 17 cms. Height 12.5 cms (to top of handle). London 1752. Maker John Spackman II

Biography – John Spackman II, son of Thomas Spackman, apprenticed to Elizabeth Goodwin 1730, turned over to William Justus 1734, free 1737. First mark entered as largeworker at Foster Lane 1741.

Object Condition

These useful silver sauce jugs are in very good condition with no damage or restoration. Each has a clear and full matching set of English silver hallmarks. The engraving is still crisp.
