Object Description

Circa 1770, George III mahogany, snap-top tripod occasional table. The rectangular table with its figured mahogany top and half round edge. Beneath the top the original handmade brass clasp and keeper is in position. It stands on a ring turned, tapering and slightly bulbous stem which terminates at a hexagonal bezel with an ogee moulding. Although tripod, it has flat sections between each of the legs with a slight shaping to the apron. The table finishes on 3 elegant, stylish pad feet, again with a shaped underside at the top. This style of pod is known as Isle of Man style. The table has been re-polished.
Size 73 cm high x 65 cm wide x 53 cm deep
