Object Description

A classic antique sterling silver drinking tumbler of plain tapering form. Good gauge silver. Uninscribed. Scratchweight below. Contains 290 ml.Weight 129 grams, 4.1 troy ounces. Height 8.6 cm. Diameter 7.5 cm. London 1772. Maker Charles Wright.

Biography – Charles Wright, apprenticed to Thomas Whipham 1747, free 1754. Ist mark entered as largeworker in partnership with Thomas Whipham 1757. 2nd mark alone 1775. 3rd mark (2 sizes) 1780. 4th mark 1780. Elected to Livery 1758, Court 1777, Warden 1783-5. Died 1815.

Object Condition

This lovely beaker is in very good condition with no damage or restoration. Stamped underneath with a full set of English silver hallmarks.
