Object Description

A fine antique sterling silver chocolate pot with elegant plain baluster shape on pedestal foot. Stylish gadroon borders and a large armorial engraved to the front. Not only does it have a removable top finial (for stirring the chocolate) but also the lid is detachable and is secured with a shaped pin. Weight 924 grams, 29.7 troy ounces. Contains 1000 ml. Height 29 cms. Spread 21 cms. London 1775. Maker either James Swift or James Stamp.

Object Condition

This excellent antique chocolate pot is in very good condition with no damage or restoration. Good patina and weight. Crisp engraving. Good clear marks underneath, lion passant on the lid, top finial unmarked.
