Object Description

An exceptional antique sterling silver sauce jug with decorative cast feet and large armorial engraved to one side. Fine quality and extremely heavy gauge silver. Weight 563 grams, 18.1 troy ounces. Height 13.5 cms. Spread from lip to tip of handle 21.5 cms. London 1764. Maker William Tuite.

Biography – William Tuite, London silversmith, no record of apprenticeship or freedom . Mark entered as largeworker , undated, between 1755 and 1758

Object Condition

This large silver gravy jug is in very good condition with no damage or restoration. Good gauge metal. Crips engraving. Stamped with a full set of clear English silver hallmarks.
