Object Description

George Jones Majolica platter which features mottled green and brown centre, surrounded by hawthorn berries and blossom border. Turquoise ground version. Colouration: green, dark pink, ochre, are predominant. Bears a pattern number, ‘1856’. Book reference,’George Jones Ceramics 1861-1951′ by Robert Cluett.

Object Condition

Good. No restoration. Some wear and scratches from use. KILN EFFECTS: a speck of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the centre.
