A George VI engraved glass coronation goblet.
The goblet has a bell shaped bowl and a large tear that holds a silver three pence coin.
The coin is stamped with George and Elizabeth’s head to one side and is dated 1937 on the other, the year of his coronation after his brother Edward abdicated.
The glass has a hollow knop and plain stem, a folded foot and a pontil mark underneath.
The glass is engraved with a crown, the letters ‘G VI R’ the words ‘May 12th Coronation 1937’ and below that a rose.
The glass is in excellent condition.
