A late 18th to early 19th century Georgian mahogany library step/stool.
The stool has a long loose pad seat with a contemporary covering and eight square tapering legs that are joined by cross stretchers.
The stool becomes a two step library ladder when it is tipped on its end and the two thick cross rails act as steps.
