Object Description

Georgian Oak and Mahogany Longcase clock.

The case is made from the finest English oak and crossbanded with mahogany, it has reeded canted corners either side of the trunk door also with reeded pillars either side of the hood door with brass capitals and swan-neck pediment above.

The dial is unusual in being round but may have been ordered by a customer in preference to the more usual square or arched dials. It is beautifully decorated to a very high standard with a peacock featured in the centre.
