An early 19th century Georgian mahogany wheel barometer and thermometer by Zambra.
The base of the barometer has a spirit level dial which has engraved the name “C Zambra 25 Lion St Holborn”.
The Zambra family of barometer makers were based in London at the start of the 19th century and several variations of the name can be found on many barometers.
The barometer has a mahogany case that has a box wood and ebony line inlay to its edge with a swan neck pediment to the top and a gilt brass urn.
The barometer has an 8 inch silverised dial with the barometric pressures around the outer edge and below the dial a knob to adjust the register needle.
Above the dial is long thermometer in a mahogany and glazed case and above this the circular hygrometer.
The barometer is in good original working condition. (Circa 1820)
