(Breakfront bookcases are one of the grandest, yet at the
same time most functional pieces of antique furniture around.
They are found in a huge variety of sizes, qualities, woods and
dates of manufacture, ranging from the mid 18th century right
through to the Edwardian era in the early 20th century. This
particular example is perfect for 21st century living with its simple,
but exceptional quality design and construction and it’s much smaller
than normal proportions which would allow it to be used in just about
any room of the home or office. As fit for purpose as the day it was
made it is an incredibly handsome, but at the same time useful
piece of furniture.)
