A mahogany Georgian Secretaire Campaign Chest.
This small sized military chest has a drop-down front to the top drawer to access the secretaire area. This contains 6 internal drawers, lined in cedar wood and with brass axe drop handles, and 4 pigeon holes with a central area to the base for papers. The chest stands on fixed, shaped bracket feet and has brass carrying handles to the sides. The long drawers have original brass swan neck handles and base boards of oak.
A rare, earlier piece of campaign furniture which has added practicality for its small size. Circa 1760.
