Georgian Silver Nutmeg Grater

Object Description

A plain style antique sterling silver nutmeg grater of cylindrical style. Open the lid and the box opens out to use the steel grater. Height when closed 6.5 cms. Top measures 3 x 2.5 cms. London 1811. Maker John Robins.

Object Condition

This very collectible silver nutmeg grater is in good condition with no damage or restoration. Each piece has English silver hallmarks which are easy to read. The metal grater would originally have slid out of the retainer but it is stiff and we haven’t been able to check this.
