This model of four daisies is formed from the finest of materials: gold imitates bark, bloodstone is carved into a miniature vase, nephrite is a substitute for green leaves, and yellow and white hardstones are married to create the floral heads of the daisies—with a single diamond in the centre of each flower to signal the stigma. The bundle of daisies appears to sit in a vase. The effect is mesmerising, and the skill of the artisan undeniable.
While Karl Fabergé is perhaps best known for his Imperial Eggs, he produced many other types of items, flower models prime among them. This model follows the precedent set by Fabergé and does so with exquisite materials and masterful craftsmanship.
