Object Description
This set of 12 + 12 George II pistol handled silver dinner and dessert knives were made C1740 and measure 9 5/8 inches long and 8 7/8 inches long, they are crested to the fronts with a stags head, 4 dinner knives have a slightly different stags head and one dessert knife has a very rubbed crest and is slightly different in handle size (when laid as a setting on a dining table these minor issues won’t be noticed at all) – this aside this is a lovely set of period knives that have been re-bladed with slightly brushed scimitar shaped blades and the handles are marked with a lion passant and makers mark in varying degrees of clarity, they are very useable and are in very good condition with no splits or holes.
