Object Description

This very nice James II silver porringer was made in London in 1686 by Isaac Deighton and measures just over 5 inches handle to handle by 3 3/16 inches in dia across the top and 2 3/8 inches across the base, it has cast and scrolled handles either side and the body is plain apart from the pin prick engraved initials of H over WE inside a shaped cartouche. The porringer is fully and very clearly hallmarked underneath and it is in very good condition weighing 4 ounces or 126 grams.
