Object Description

This provincial Commonwealth silver apostle spoon of St Peter was made C1650 in the West Country and measures 7.75 inches in length and has a well defined apostle to the top of the stem and is marked in the bowl with the makers mark of what appears to be RP, it has a well formed bowl with no major signs of wear, it is of good gauge and to the back there is pin prick engraving of MM over ID 1676 and also there are engraved 3 flower heads and a star which is a known engraving and has been found on spoons from the Benson collection. It is in good condition and weighs 1.65 ounces or 51 grams, a very nice spoon.
