Object Description

This good quality crested George II silver collett footed sauce or gravy boat was made in London in 1758 by William Skeen and measures 5.5 inches to the top of the handle by 8.25 inches handle to spout and is 4.25 at it’s widest. The cast foot has a gadrooned border as does the top of the boat and the scrolled handle has an acanthus leaf thumb piece. It is crested to the side with a stags head and is fully hallmarked under the lip. It is a large and sturdy boat in very good condition weighing 13.85 ounces or 431 grams.
