A 1930s drinks cabinet designed by Italian architect Guglielmo Ulrich, for Valzania. This dramatic piece of handcrafted Art Deco furniture represents the luxury, glamour and exuberance of the period. The design takes influence from the bold geometric forms of Cubism and the oversize brass hinges have a African origin, the zig-zag pattern is often found in hand-carved tribal jewelry. The geometry of the design is continued with the use of rectangular pieces of exotic parchment that cover the surface like a tight skin. Inside there is an opaline black glass base with internally mirrored sides and back.
