"HANDS ON HEELS" by Eric Gill (1882 - 1940)

Object Description

Fine pencil drawing. Inscribed “hands on heels” in pencil at top right. Signed lower right by feet.
Inscribed lower right edge with following dates 9-10-26, 18-10-26 and 4-4-28.
Gill is a controversial, divisive figure these days. Whatever your opinion about his morals however this drawing is phenomenal and as good as he gets.

Time stains on outer edges. Crease in paper in upper left quarter
Superbly presented in stylish mount and frame by former owner.
Frame size 27 x 21 inches.
