A fine and impressive pair of vintage hessonite garnet and 9 carat yellow gold, Art Deco style cufflinks; part of our gents jewellery/jewelry collection
These fine vintage cufflinks have been crafted in 9 ct yellow gold.
These impressive garnet cufflinks in yellow gold have a rectangular cut cornered form.
The anterior link of each cufflink is ornamented with an engraved Art Deco style sunburst design accented with a four claw set hessonite garnet*, displayed within an eight pointed star motif.
The posterior links are plain and embellished with a simplistic engraved paralleling border.
These impressive cufflinks articulate via a five link connector chain.
The reverse of each cufflink is clearly hallmarked.
The hallmarks include the London Assay Office hallmark (leopard’s head), 9ct gold fineness marks (.375 and 9), the date letter mark for 1964 (i) and maker’s mark for Albion Croft Co Ltd (ALBION, ACCo).
NOTE: * A hessonite garnet has gained the nickname ‘cinnamon stone’ due to its classic orange-brown colouring; however the colouring can range from honey-yellow to brown-red. This gemstone holds historical importance as it used within Vedic astrology, where wearers believe hessonite can bring success and recognition in society, in addition to promoting longevity and good fortune.
