Object Description

A finely crafted Hoi An blue and white porcelain lobed jarlet. The body takes the shape of a flattened globular form featuring a singular ring framing the short neck. Two jewelled bands are displayed at the top and the bottom of the body, otherwise unadorned.
Date: Circa late 15th-early 16th century AD

Object History

Provenance: From the Hoi An shipwreck, sank in the late 15th-early 16th century AD (approximately 1490). Recovered in the early 1990’s.

Object Condition

Condition: Fine condition. Some minor chipping to the rim, dulling of glazed surfaces due to seawater exposure.
