Object Description
Japanese Meiji period globular bottle vase. The vase of extremely rare form with small opening and a tight pinched neck with a large globular body upon a raised foot rim. Decorated extensively with scrolling on-laid silver around 5 scenes featuring figures, flowers and birds amongst foliage. Towards the base of the vase a strong cobalt blue glaze finishes the vase before meeting the foot rim. To the base an impressed Kinkozan blind mark.
