A late 19th to early 20th century Japanese Meiji period (1864-1912) two fold screen.
The screen comprises a stained carved wood frame inset with lacquered and ivory decorated panels.
The front panels have red black and gold decoration, applied carved ivory and mother of pearl foliage insects and birds and a carved signature.
The rear panels have similar lacquered and painted decoration of Foliage and birds.
The screen is raised on casters and is in good condition with some minor shrinkage marks to the lacquer panels. (Circa 1900)
