English, c. 1880

This wonderful ewer is by the famous English porcelain makers Royal Worcester. The ewer is of traditional form, the body crafted from ivory coloured porcelain adorned with a series of surface indentations in the form of semi-circular arcs. The ewer is painted in the Japanese style with vibrant floral bouquets, while the handle is elaborately formed in the manner of a scrolling Japanese dragon. The underside is partially drilled and is indistinctly marked for Royal Worcester.
