Johnson Brothers Victorian Blue & White Sink with Bracket

Object Description

A late 19th century blue and white Victorian transfer print sink with cast iron bracket by Johnson Brothers. Based in Hanley near Stoke on Trent, the Johnson Brothers were earthenware and sanitary manufacturers of the 19th and 20th centuries. This antique porcelain sink is beautifully decorated, the blue transfer print embellishing the basin and sink surround as well as the elegant leaf shaped soap holders. A beautiful wall-mounted sink for a vintage cloakroom or ensuite.

Object Condition

Good structural condition. Various hairline cracks and cracks to the glazing. It’s been over-coated in clear lacquer which is peeling in places. It may leak until the surface has been refinished. Reapply lacquer to surface to make watertight. Sold as seen. Taps turn freely but aren’t tested. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor Losses, scuffs, and scratches.
