Object Description

A finely potted Austrian Art Nouveau Majolica centrepiece or jardinière by the renowned manufactory of Julius Dressler and dating from around 1900. This stunning an elegant piece stands raised on a leaf shaped pedestal foot the ribbed bowl-shaped body of long shape with raised loop handles to either end and with decorative molded iris applied to raised elements to either side of the bowl. The centrepiece is hand painted in tones of purple, brown and green with trailed elements highlighted with gilding. With raised makers mark applied to the base the centrepiece is numbered 3991 and marked Austria.

Object Condition

In good condition with a small professional restoration to a small chip at the base of one handle.
