Object Description
Chinese early 18th Century Blue and white moulded double gourd bottle vase. Made during the reign of the Emperor Kangxi 1662-1722 at the kilns at Jingdezhen.
The moulded body is lightly moulded around the base with leaf shaped panels outlined in blue. The panels are painted to the inside with flowering tree peonies. The top of this section is painted with a hatched pattern with trailing leaves
The middle section is painted with scrolling lotus above a band of turbulent waves. The narrow neck painted with scholars item below leaf pattern.
The small second gourd is painted with a geometric pattern below a repeat of the full leaves from the top of the bottom part.
The top flares slightly in a flask style
To the base is an Artemisia leaf
The shape is Middle eastern based on a metal ware design
The colour and potting is excellent and an usual design and pattern
