Kangxi – Chinese early 18th century – blue and white tall bottle vase.
excellent potting and under glaze blue painting in the Middle eastern Islamic style.
The base painted in the more unusual design of four stylized roundels of opening lotus flowers below a café au lait coloured band on the shoulder at the base of the neck.
The neck is painted with stylized flower heads and to the top a floral band again below a café au lait coloured rim.
The colour is excellent and striking.
Although I have three examples of this pattern it is unusual and the common feature is the whiteness of the body and glaze with striking blue.
