Object Description
Chinese early 18th century blue and white molded stem cup or goblet. Made at Jingdezhen during the reign of the Emperor Kangxi (1662-1722) for export to Europe with the East India Company.
The shape is very much based on the Georgian glass shape but great to have the original lid.
Painted in the style known as pencil painting to show foliage and flowering peonies. The stem is painted with lappets or flames. The main body is lightly molded with ribbing making it very tactile
Excellent quality and colour
