Object Description
Kangxi – Chinese 18th Century – Blue and White porcelain plate made at Jingdezhen potted as a saucer plate painted with scene inside which unusually for this pattern extends across the whole plate. The decoration shows two sampans tied up at a river bank with three fishermen in conversation while being watched by a lady inside one sampan sheltering under a cliff. The decoration is a mix of pencil painting and normal infill decoration
Unusual for this pattern there is a skein of geese flying above the mountains and a small semi circle for the sun.
The underside painted with mountains under the sides and to the base a double circle around a six character Cheng H’ua mark
