Chinese early 18th century – Kangxi – Famille Verte deep plate with excellent enamelling and potting. Painted with deep colours which have not faded or any loss of enamel.
The decoration shows a large jardinière of flowers in the Dutch style to the centre while to the outside there are cartouches of important flowering plants in auspicious groupings. the shapes of the cartouches represent other important items, pomegranate, Lingzhi and rhombus.
The Very edge of the plate is intensely painted with a geometric pattern which also has cartouches of flowers. This top border is repeated to the underside of the rim .
The base has a double circle around the Mandarin Mark of Honour
